Portrait
I love to shoot portraits. I like to take people a little bit out of their comfort zone, some need no encouragment at all. In order to make sure no two end up looking too similar I try to capture the person I see them as - rather than the version they're used to seeing. Most of my portraits are people I have met socially and most leave with a new sense of confidence.
I see people as characters in stories or paintings. I take a lot of notes, jot down ideas inspired by them then try to organise a shoot. I encourage fun, drama and a little ego. Usually mine.
I have a series of portraits of artists, photographers and writers coming soon. I'm so looking forward to their narrative and anecdotes whilst I shoot. My short wishlist is to shoot Grayson Perry, PJ Harvey and John Minihan.
A great man and a great friend renowned for the original "a mars a day helps you..."
Irish Rock legend Frank Kearns of Cactus World News fame. A big influence on my own sound.
Irish guitar legend Jimmy. Loved getting the opportunity to do a few clicks for him.
Heading out to the Rolling Stones
